Accomplishments
The Oral Health Foundation has made over $9.8 million in grants since its launch in 2000. A majority of the Foundation's grants increased oral health education and access to preventive health services for people experiencing health disparities in at least ninety communities across Massachusetts. OHF's capacity building grants supported increasing levels of community readiness for service delivery enhancements and policy action.
The increased awareness and engagement resulting from the Foundation's investments in a statewide awareness campaign and mobilization of grassroots constituencies ensures more effective action of consumers, providers and policy makers working together to effect changes in health systems. With collaborative partners, the knowledge and skills of the Foundation's board and staff, and yearly grant making resources expected to remain at the $4 million level, OHF is poised to address the root causes of oral health disease, and significant disparities in health care at the environmental and policy level going forward.
